  • I am an carinspector in Sweden, every year I inspect a couple of Porsches and I really enjoy it! The age of a Porsche doesn’t mather I think, they are enjoyable! Some days ago I drove a GT3 from maybe 2005 and it was in very good condition. We have a 400 m drive around the building so it’s short but a privilege to get a small taste of these cars. There is a lot of Porsche’s in Sweden.

  • Porsche 911 design is like a shape shifter or a theatrical actor who changes faces but still the same person. Porsche should get out of the box, venture a little bit and start making some new cool different designs like Ferrari does instead of feeling comfortable on just shape shifting.

  • I love Leno, but some of the things they're both saying near the beginning about Porsche are just plain false. Porsche owners by and large do not regularly drive their cars (especially a limited model like a Targa or GT3), nor do Porsches "just take a beating". They're just temporary appliances, designed to be disposable in 5 years should a potential owner decide to drive it somewhat regularly. See how the engine becomes less and less accessible year by year? If you pop the trunk on this car I think you'lll see a windshield washer fluid fill and maybe an oil fill. They don't WANT you repairing it. That's by design.

    • acetone can be manufactured with no petroleum products... alcohol.. 95% is re distilled with aspirin... the acetylanhydride has a single carbon ring that completes the process.. non toxic all the way.. cheap.. from hemp biomass.. a simple CIS injection should work just fine

      Richard CarewRichard Carew6 dagar sedan
    • acetone + HSO4.. 2cc/liter, but it doesn't go away, just eats the carbon.. in a one liter jar half full, a pipette with compressed air is placed through the lid into the liquid.. hydrogen oxygen gas is developed and is removed by a port in the lid... AuPd is impervious to acids.. a gift from the StarFire Family.. te amo Porsche ♥

  • True story. A few years back, I met an old neighbour in the parking lot of a grocery store as we exited together and coincidentally parked next to each other. He had just bought a 997 911 and he had parked next to my 997.gt3 - I still had numbers on the window from a track day. I told him to jump and we went for a loop on onramps and corners. The car had buckets, 1/2 cage, suspension work. The first time I really hit the gas and he heard the engine sound and the car came alive, he was astonished. He got out of the car simply blown away and couldn't believe the car was street legal. Six months later he bought a GT3. There is an experience in a gt3, at high rpms, that is simply breathtaking - it takes a while until you put it in the background, so you can drive on a track and not have the experience distract you.

  • CW of .34? My old Lexus has a CW of .29 and it carries five in comfort. Surely, the coefficient is, as Jay said, in the low twenties. I owned Lou Fageol's 1953 Porsche 356 Super. Lou had two engines in his but couldn't get the front engine and rear to synch and sold it through a ROAD & TRACK classified for, I believe $3,500. I bought the car in 1959 for $700, after it had been raced in SCCA F Production Class in the Midwest. It was rumpled and rusty but December of 1959 I striped all the old paint and primer off and a friend painted it in 17 coats of metallic silver Lucite lacquer. I believe the Fageol conversion made it the first Porsche road car with FWD. The GT3 is only 100 mph faster than my old crock. They've come a long way since many components were stock VW pieces.
