  • The reason the hub on your mower was different is you changed out a shear hub for a standard hub.

  • Hey Eric, This note is unrelated to this specific video, as I'm new to your channel I've been binge watching your videos and noticed you often pressure wash with an orbiting nozzle even on equipment. I don't believe it's meant for equipment as I have one myself and its not nice on stickers or paint. I've witnessed paint and stickers flying off on your videos and just thought I'd notify you so resale might be better for you when trading your equipment in. Nozzle works great for calf panels though!

  • Hi Eric, I hope you torque down the large bolt at 1:53 minutes enough. My JD discbine is torqued to 250 ft lbs plus medium strength loctite to keep the turtle disc from flying off at 3000 rpm. Use a large torque wrench and read the manual closely. All the best Eric!

  • I don't often post comments to your channel, you've got more than enough on your palette and I imagine your computer time is limited. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoy each and every single one of your videos, you do it really well. You portray your tasks honestly, no glossing and most certainly no boasting. You're a committed, dedicated and arduous worker, you toil, you love, you laugh, you play and above all, you're dedicated both spiritually and practically. You'd make a bloody good Aussie, moreover, you are a wonderful American. Cheers from Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia. In summary, well done and thank you.

  • Versatile actually , I think had the first IVT type transmission . It was called the 300 hydro mec and although it had a hydrostatic drive for light work it also had an ivy mode for heavy work . I had one for about 5 years . V6 cummins very fuel efficient articulated tractor .

  • Umm. Unless they’ve changed it that doesn’t really look like a shockhub. That looks like an original non shockhub. Also. Next time squirt grease down in that bearing before you put the hub on

  • I am astonished at how complex and user friendly today's tractors are. I can now understand how the discbine cuts and crimps your hay and triticale at the same time. I hope Messick's isn't jealous Ag Con is giving you a new ride to demonstrate to all the farmers who watch your channel.

  • For your hydraulics, if you have the ability to use your joystick (normally the front loader controls) it makes it real nice. I have that same mower and it makes it easy to just pull back on the joystick and the mower picks up and then push to either the left or right and the mower goes there. Makes it to where I am not searching for the correct hydraulic when trying to make turns.

  • That hub that you put on your mower is designed for an older style mower the aren't shock hubs if you hit a rock with that hub it will smash the gearbox All to bits. The one you need is missing teeth and it's thinner that's why you had that washer looking cap on top of the gearbox.. that prevents the teeth from falling in the bearing..
