One of only 100 built, this sophisticated car made by W.O. Bentley was formerly an ambassador's car before becoming a chicken coup!

Hosted by legendary comedian and “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno, the series explores our obsession with all things automotive. From classic cars to supercars and everything in-between, Jay is hitting the road to discover the most exciting, weird and wonderful vehicles ever made and meet the passionate people behind their wheels. Each one-hour themed episode features a mix of stunts, challenges, reviews, and celebrity interviews that showcases the colorful history of the automobile. Whether he’s exploring the story of an iconic brand, road-testing the newest super car, or investigating the latest automotive innovations, there is no wheel Jay won’t get behind to tell the story of our love affair with the car.
About Jay Leno: Acclaimed TV late night show host, admired stand-up comedian, best-selling children’s book author, much-in-demand corporate speaker, lovable TV and movie voice-over artist, pioneering car builder and mechanic, and philanthropist…it’s no wonder that Jay Leno is widely characterized as “the hardest working man in show business.”

So... what's the fuel economy like?
Love to see your garage/car museum once the current situation with COVID is over, great video.
DESMOND Llewellyn! Played Q in the Bond films. The older, better ones.
Superb car and mini documentary!
What a car, what a storyteller... That paint has a deep blue in the sun, glorious
Ahhhh.... sunroof for all that English sun... psh you mean overcast rain roof
I so wish “smell-o-vision” existed. Every car has a particular smell. Musty, leather, wood, varnish, fluids, cloths, materials. Those are just as unique as the cars themselves. I Wonder what Jay smells like?! Hmmmm... LENO CAR FRESHNER!! ?? VERBAL PATENT!!
as a Batltler in australia i want to thank you for sharing your pation with us I adore your effort as a car crazy Ozzie i adore and respect you cheers
Did I see only two pedals? Does it have a Wilson preselect gearbox?
Always a pleasure to see your cars
great frikkin car
Thank-you Jay!! BTW, when safe, why not had up to Danville and the Blackhawk collection and share some stories of the cars they have there too?
After this I'm searching for a tear down video on this engine. Anyone have a link? In curious to see how it's built with no head.
How does one person know so much about automotive history!!?? I Learnt so much about WO Bentley in under thirty minutes Thanks @Jay
Oh wow that is a beautiful, bad A-- Car Jay!!! I don't know what it is but the way they had design these cars back then ain't no comparison from today? I will always prefer the classics. Heck I'm 40 years old and I've been wishing for a 1930s car for a very long time. Though I may never own or drive one? But in Dreamland I can. Thanks for posting the video Jay!! Please take care and be safe.
Wow, such a beautiful car. Thanks for sharing, Mr. Leno.
Jay i have a chicken coup chicken 🐓 can u make it into a Bently for me???
It should be converted into a tow truck. Now that would be cool.
Desmond was his name
Jay, I have to ask......What do you use for fuel with tanks like that??
This question haunts for me ages: why metric?
I'm sure detonation could be a problem with blower cars. Compression ratios in normally aspirated cars could run at half today's numbers. Detonation and related combustion problems can be hard to detect and cause varying damage.
Magnificent automobile
It really looks like a train engineer built this car, even more when looking it from below.
I wonder how much torque that motor makes
Excellent video! We love ya, Jay! Thanks for posting all the videos!
Jay is the best
A beautiful thing. I bet the cigarette lighter was probably a cigar lighter .....
What are those? Spare spark plugs screwed into the firewall at 4:44? Lol
So, Jay, when you die is it going to be a museum or are you going to allow your family to auction them off? Asking for a friend.
A global warming add 🤣
Elegant.
It would appear that this Bentley was the last chance saloon.
I love cars that are like this one, this car is one of my favorites.
Imagine living near of Mister Leno's garage. You won't have to visit a museum again :D
I recommend (re)playing the “British Green” Bentley mission in FH4 to my fellow Forza players who watched this. ^^
Of cause it is a lever, what else? A stick is an intricate device to direct cows with.
Jay, you should have bought Keith Richards' Bentley!
What a classy automobile, superb, beauty. Thank you for sharing it with us
Love this car. But I can't accept criticism of UK lights (of any vintage) from the nation that combines brake lights with turn indicators. And also bans most innovations in headlight safety for many years. Doesn't spoil the video in any way, obviously.
The boorish mandolin syntactically save because cultivator complimentarily wash among a fine pedestrian. nervous, ossified rutabaga
.... I believe it was Desmond Llewelyn who played the part of 'Q' in the early James Bond movie series ....
This is a great car! But JAY LENO you gotta check out this kid building a SPEEDSTER - MacroMachines!
Have you ever been in an accident in one of your historical cars ?
Hi Jay, this is craftsmanship. So many of your cars are incredible examples of the ability we can admire in the deep understanding, knowledge and expertise that these individuals created with. Jay could you do a story covering the most tragic life of young Frank Lockhart . This self taught engineer would have altered history. I am sure you are aware of him. Thanks for your interest shared with so many of us around the planet.
good one!
When a man pulls up in that car you automatically call him “Sir”.
18:43 World’s first Blu tooth plugs 😉
Jack Barclay, although the family association ceased in 1993, still has a showroom in Berkeley Sq, Mayfair, London.
Jay, how about a tour of all the wall art in your garage?
sounds awful on modern fuel.
Advance it a lot, modern fuel in these engines sounds terrible on the limit of... miscombustion.
When the pandemic is over I'm going to miss these more personal episodes of Jay's Garage.
I say, old chap. Don't you find that wobbly steering wheel a bit disconcerting?
It always drives me nuts when Jay calls Ettore Buggati Entero..
Amazing engineering and craftsmanship. Thank you for sharing!
Those were well-made cars, not the junk that they now sell as Bentleys
Beautiful.
Love your pandemic edition video's Jay . Lapping the valves must be fun on fixed head Bentley , what a great car . I always look forward to your next great video.
The spark plugs on the back of the engine on the fire wall, are those spares??????
hello Mr. Potato Head>>
Oceanside Driveline @ 22:38 , hey! they rebuilt my axles on my 4x4 Ford Excursion. I am so excited that my car was in the same shop as Jay Leno's driveshaft ! :) How cool!
Thanks beautiful car
Wow, what a beautiful motor. This is more a Civil Engineering project than a car!!
Shooting several millions worth of a car with upsampling cameras? Shame.
You tube needs a love ❤️ button for vids and channels like this. Thanks again Jay.
The car has surprisingly still english licensed plates on it.
When you get older and pulls you back, what shall you do with the all cars and the garage?
As a railroad engineer I'm pretty sure that when he was designing this car, Drag coefficient wasn't at the top of the list as far as design parameters go. Beautiful automobile, I really enjoyed this presentation. Thank you.
I hope you thank your God every day for the fortunate life you have (and continue to) lead. Thank you for using your wealth to preserve some of the best of human endeavour. Namaste 🙏
That is one plus sized stately lady! Magnificent car. Always learning from you Jay, thanks 👍🏻
The plausible table ultrastructually wrestle because steel approximately need on a tawdry driving. bright, threatening oboe
Wow, really a beauty! Thank you for doing these videos, the majority of us would never see a treasure like this without you.
Thanks Jay........
Perfect James Bond villain car. Also a villain car to any mechanic.
Wonderful car. With those monstrous leaf springs and solid axels, those giant solid wheels and heavy drum brakes there's probably tons of unsprung weight, but when you look at the engine and transmission and the locomotive chassis you realize that the unsprung weight ratio is probably pretty low. It's a brute, but a very graceful brute. An elephant in tap shoes.
Recently found the show. Eight years of smiles. Very much needed today.
I just do not believe for one second that there is a greater car museum with all-working examples, with a more knowledgeable and passionate curator, anywhere - ANYWHERE - in the entire world. And in my 50 years or so, I have visited quite a few. It should have official national recognition and protection, and that includes these videos. To me, it's that important. And, failure to do this - allowing this incredible work to dissolve once its mastermind's engine finally gives up for the final time - will be hugely regretted in the future when people then realize what it was and what was lost.
One thing I thought about, admiring this "restored chicken coop," was how wonderful it is that there are still artisan/craftsmen who can do such a beautiful restoration in our throw-away culture.
Very nice car but it's noisy.
seworld.info/will/r3Csqr-RrmdfxKc/video
What a beautiful car.
Yet another awesome and enjoyable video. Jay's encyclopedic knowledge, deep understanding and empathy with the car's creator, combined with his characteristic humor is truly a saving grace in these challenging times. Much appreciated!
его бы пошире, а то смотрится немного нелепо, как 4дверная нива: узкий и длинный. а так красивая машина
Amazing car, but then, working on the engine must be a nightmare, so unpractical - no cylinder head, that pully drive on the backside, the drive system of the overhead camshaft, flimsy keys & locks, handbrake & gearshift handle blocking entry on the drive side.... Where was the designer with his thoughts ? Resulting in a typical British Mickey Mouse car... sure, looks great, maybe great to drive - that is if you can keep it in working order.... not simple.... By and large this car is a good example why British cars are nothing to have and why British car industry is so in the doldrums.... Modern Bentley being a case in point: They have stopped production, because nobody buys their expensive, unreliable white elephants anymore.... Even the new German owners - Volkswagen _ could not straighten out the British wrinkles...
8 liters (7983 cc or 487 cubic inches). The engine produced 220 bhp at 3300 rpm. It could weigh as much as 5511 pounds or more depending on coachwork.
Great insight, thanks.
The Mulliner name continued right through to the time when Bentley and Rolls Royce split and went to different owners. The Bentley Turbo R Mulliner was a limited edition model with only 56 built, most of which were LHD.
One shot chassis lubrication? My Mercedes W110 200d has 27 shot chassis lubrication and its 30 years newer!
Thanks Jay, that's one of my favorites too it's a nice looking car, and thanks for the history lesson that goes with it, that is interesting.
Jay, simply great - take care, stay healthy... see u next week, thanks! Matthias
I followed one an old straight-six Bentley from Springer NM South on I-25. Even from outside, you could see it was in the zone rolling at high speed.
It was Desmond Llwellyn who played ' Q ' Jay !
A master class in automobile appreciation. Thanks Jay. 😁
any of these corporations would make a killing if they did a limited number of 30's remakes with todays avancements. the outside beauty is just so stunning. or if tesla started doing electric versions
Yes, it is impressive car.
Any one hear the story of the RN barn find? My father told the story of finding a bently chassis with like 2 ton of lead on it some super dooper engine was eventually bought back by bently?? Supposedly some secret test bed??
Simply magnificent.
Gaitors = good idea...
I have an early home made front end loader with an 8 liter Bentley in it.
That was joke folks.
