Brexit Deportations Beginning Next Month

Because of Boris Johnson's extreme tory brexit removing our freedom of movement rights, a number of British immigrants living in the EU are coming to the end of their 90 days allowed stay and are in the process of being deported. A disproportionate number seem to be brexit supporters who didn't think they needed to do anything in order to be allowed to stay. They were not correct.

  • Wow, where's your evidence to everyone who's been told to leave Spain was a Brexiter....you keep saying everyone is stupid but not you... Any EU citizen who wants to live and work in any other EU country could do so, for a maximum of 6 months before having to apply for a visa. Is it possible the people who have been told to come back to the UK was already living there illegally anyway....or possible that it was older retired people, who lived their for 6 months of winter/fall and came back to England In the summer?. Now the rules have changed, they would have to fill in paper work for a different type of Visa? Which by the way. out of that few hundred people could of, in fact had the visa processing 🤔.....

  • When my Mother was 84 she went to 'live in sin' as she said with her boyfriend in Canada. She always proudly and jokingly referred to herself a a 'landed immigrant' as that what was stamped in her passport. She found that term very amusing and took the opportunity to use it when ever she could........:-)

  • Brexit voters in my experience are generally just a bunch of willingly ignorant and down right ignorant right wing nationalists and racists. Who damaged the UK politically and economically and deprived the rest of us of our EU citizenship and the benefits that come with it. Please let's call what is referred to as 'British exceptionalism' what it is, white supremacist racism pure and simple. I have yet to meet a non white person that thinks like that. Please do not get me started on Brexiteer's, that corrupt bunch of lying racist gangsters.........:-)

  • I have lived in Spain ever since 1993 when I had to get a job or leave within 3 months. I have always had to have a residency permit and I have always paid tax here. And if being in the EU is just so obviously beneficial to those on the lower wage scale who have met wave after wave of ‘expats’ arriving in Britain, then why did the Swiss vote against it as well as Norway who also heard all the same arguments against the idea of not joining? What we needed was more ‘expats’ arriving and putting pressure on the wages of UK youtubers and journalists...

It's just a shame that there are so many gullible people in the uk that swallowed al the brexit lies hook line and sinker and ▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎ed it up for the rest of us. Pro brexiteers are probably in the minoriy now that they can see the reality a bit clearer.

  • Surely previously registered Brits have the option to re-register under the UK EU withdrawal agreement. However, I understand that if they're to lazy to complete this process, or if for technical reasons they can't meet the criteria (lack of sufficient income, never bothered to learn some phrases in Spanish etc, they may have a problem). In my case I travel regularly so when my 90 days of EU Schengen protocol days are up, I move to a non Schengen state. I'm against the EU, not based on any British experience but on my observations and opinions about the many negative aspects of EU modus operandi. I firmly believe the EU will faces many challenges in the coming years.

  • I'm a 40 year old German and have lived in England for almost 30 years. I've noticed that the British media is completely lying about this situation. It's you Brits who chose to leave Europe, so it's only normal that rules that apply to other countries outside the EU are being applied to you. Fact, even though I've lived in England for most my life, I also have to apply to settled Status to remain in England as a result of Brexit. The arrogance Brexiteers have, to complain that they have to apply for settled Status to remain in EU is a a joke..

  • We are not unique in believing we are not foreigners in a foreign land. I am English, standing in the UK and listened to some Chinese talk about me and ask who the foreigner was. (i lived in china for 2 years and speak mandarin). I've worked all over Europe ( I lived in Germany 4 years as an engineer) and listened to a Turkish man complain about how many African foreigners are swarming over his little German town. Unlike many other nations, we will find another poor country to call our home, slagging off the UK as usual, whilst denying the umbilical cord tying us back to blighty with the title 'Ex-pat'. However, like I said, we are not unique in this thought.

I guess this is the buccaneer spirit Johnson et al were joyfully proclaiming ... This time against his own country rather than any other country ... At times it seems Johnson & his nasty government didn't have any idea about governing, managing crises, the EU etc & are just play acting being in power with their script written by their disaster Capitalist backers.

  • Not much sympathy for leaving EU supporting immigrants on the Continent. Excellent analysis . The B word inappropriate as it affects the whole the UK and UK citizens. Feel more sorry for the young people now not able to study and work on the Continent. Many older leave voters don't have to face the consequences of their emotional folly , and many no doubt are no longer with us. I know of UK naturalised citizens , born outside the EU who actually voted to leave , but that's democracy! Londoners whom voted 60%+ to remain should be more vocal . We in Greater London have some the most deprived Boroughs in country, often pay more tax and council tax than other regions , with shortages of teachers and NHS staff. Vote leave Boroughs, (only 5 outer London out of 32 ) should be encouraged to leave London and join the Europhobe counties of Essex , Surrey, Berkshire & Herts. In a remain voting Borough 70% + , I'm tired of being scolded by anti immigrant and outdated xenophobic parts of the country and media. Not suggesting that we should be like some selfish Catalans or Flemish , but London should given at least as much autonomy in tax raising and borrowing powers as Scotland and Wales. We urgently need quality new public housing and essential infrastructure like Crossrail 2&3 & more river crossings and tighter controls of greenbelt and new build developments as investment vehicles , owned by offshore , tax avoiding investors. Ashamed that a London MP , in a rare vote leave Borough , sacked for lying, having deceived Parliament & the monarchy ( declared by the UK Supreme Court) is disgracing our City , Region, nation and country with his corrupt practices and swindling of London and British public funds. Stop to these wingging Ultra or hard leavers , who don't aren't content with ruining our economy and our historic tradition of being open to refugees , political asylum seekers and those in need of' safety. So often they were deceived by a failed parliamentary candidate ( 7 times no less) that some of us wished had not survived his plane crash private school education in Dulwich.

  • 7 billion Sterling is about to be written off the UK GDP this week by Johnson in one foul swoop. Lugano, the agreement that allows all European companies and individuals to access court orders regarding trading disputes locally, thus making the possibility for an individual of an EU country that is a signatory to the Lugano agreement, can get his or her €75 back from an internet seller who sent them a dodgy hairdryer from another European country, this is the same agreement that allows an international corporation in France to stop an efficient corporation in, say, Germany from stitching each other up. Johnson is about to be told by someone with a foreign accent that the UK can no longer join in because he has been misbehaving in Ireland. As the UK was previously the "go to" country for these legal battles, and many contracts had UK in the small print for jurisdiction, the lawyers, barristers and courts all got a cut of the 7 billion accrued from these legal battles. Fortunately Uber are now taking on drivers for most major cities in England so the barristers now unemployed will be able to continue to feed their cocaine habit.

  • Hearing this week of the thousands of people in the UK still waiting for treatment and operations following delays caused by Covid, made me very worried for the future of the NHS and a scenario for which the British government will probably not have prepared. Not all of the returnees will have been deported. There will be an influx of hundreds of thousands of mainly old Brits all needing to be treated in an NHS already struggling, when they find costs prohibitive in Europe. Not only Spain, but also France where there are over 100,000 residents, and other European countries. This could already have started and will increase after the end of 2020 when all Brits need to have all their ducks in a row and all paperwork completed.
